A Great Sales Copy Is The One Written To Your Dearest Friend

by Itay Paz

A great sales copy takes skill to write. It is also about knowing how to appeal to the reader. You need to make the reader believe you care about their success.

If you want to create a great sales copy you need more than just a flashy headline and a list of features. You need to emotionally appeal to the reader. The best way to do this is to write your salescopy as if you were talking to your closest friend. You can achieve this by following these tips:

Tip 1: Friends not strangers - Even though you dont personally know the readers you are marketing your product to, you should understand what they want. Remember, you are selling your service or product to a specific target market; people you should be able to relate to.

Therefore, after your catchy headline, address the reader as "Dear Friend" and begin telling them who you are, what you intend to sell them, what its about, and how it will benefit them. You want the reader to believe you know why you can help them, because you were and are just like them.

Tip 2: Know how you would like to be treated -Think about how you would like to be treated if you were a prospective customer and you were reading a sales letter. Answer the following questions and translate your responses into your sales page:

* What would you like to know about a product you are interested in? * How would you like to be treated and addressed? * What would make you feel valued? * What would earn your trust?

Tip 3: Valuable information - A great sales copy is one that is filled with relevant and concise information. It is important that you tell your readers why your product or service will benefit them, but it is just as important to let them know what your product is all about. The more details you can provide, the more it will show prospective clients you know your stuff.

The last thing you want is to lose the interest of your customers by looking like "another somebody" trying to sell "another something" online.

Tip 4: Review and seek opinions - After you write your salespage, read it over thoroughly and be critical. Think from the readers perspective, did you find what you wrote interesting? Cut out any fluff you may have added to puff up your product. Your goal is to keep the selling of your product or service clear and relevant as possible.

Thus, another excellent idea when you are reviewing your letter is to ask fellow colleagues or friends to take a look at it, so they can tell you what they think. Their advice and criticism can get you closer to achieving a good sales page.

Tip 5: Test and test again - Once you think you have created an impressive sales letter, publish it on the web and see what happens. Does the salescopy generate the number of customers you anticipated? If not, its time to look it over and make it more appealing to customers. Continue to test your letter until you get it right.

If you can emotionally appeal to your customers and keep them interested, not only have you generated a great sales copy, you have also established trust. Trust is difficult to earn on the internet, so dont expect that a flamboyant sales page is going to win over a customer.
